The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words, Rei, which means "God's Wisdom" or "The Higher Power", and Ki, which is "lifeforce energy". Reiki is the practice of guiding the universal lifeforce energy to where it is needed. It is a safe but powerful method of healing and self-improvement which helps balance and relax the body and mind.
The Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for the energy, facilitating it to flow around the body to where it is most needed. The client may feel sensations of heat or tingling and experience beneficial effects such as relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
Benefits of Reiki
Reiki can benefit everyone. It has been effective in helping with virtually every known illness and disease, including cancer. As well as helping to heal the body, it can be used to reduce stress, calm the mind and help with anxiety and depression. It may also be used on pregnant women. Reiki is a complementary healing therapy which works in conjunction with all other medical and therapeutic techniques to promote healing.
